Security Guard II PILB 1357 - SOC - Hawthorne, NV

This position is is for a Security Guard II for the Hawthorne Army Depot located in Hawthorne Nevada. We would like to invite you to Google information about Hawthorne and Hawthorne Army Depot.   • The nearest major shopping facility (Walmart) is about 75 miles away in Fallon Nevada.

  • The closest major city (Reno NV) is located about 2.5 driving hours away.

  • Las Vegas Nevada is located about 5 driving hours away.

  • Our climate compares to that of Afghanistan (dry desert) but the temperatures are not as extreme.

There are many opportunities in our area for outdoor recreation. Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes Ski Resort, and many back-roads for for hiking, biking, fishing, ATV/UTV travel are a few of the amenities right out our back door. Hawthorne is a patriotic and peaceful town.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : Under the direction of a supervisor, conducts armed patrols, mounted and on foot. Stands post at designated locations, carries out instructions, primarily oriented toward insuring that emergencies, security and safety violations are readily discovered and reported to appropriate authority. Intervenes in situations that require action to safeguard property or persons. Duties require training in the use of firearms, less than lethal intervention, and various other security procedures. Receives guidance from the Guard Operations Manager.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES :


1. Conducts armed patrols, mounted and on foot, of the Hawthorne Army Depot. Insures the integrity of the Hawthorne Army Depot and the security of real and personal property, as well as stored assets.


2. Stands post at designated locations, including entrance and exit points for the Hawthorne Depot. Assures that all practices and regulations pertaining to access to the Depot are complied with.


3. Makes written and oral reports to alarm room personnel, supervisors or other designated persons.


4. In accordance with established procedures, responds to dispatches, alarms, and observed situations to insure the security of the Depot property and personnel. Serves as first responder to cordon off/contain an area during spills and discharges which may contain hazardous substances.


5. Monitors and directs the operation of motor vehicles within the Depot. Identifies and cites persons who fail to comply with established rules and practices.


6. During course of duties, all potential and real safety hazards and/or safety issues are to be identified and reported to Field Supervisor.


7. Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Field Supervisor.


8. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada driver’s license.


9. Must be at least 21 years of age.


10. Must be able to successfully complete an appropriate physical agility test, as established by DoD regulations and Company policy.


11. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance as established by DoD regulations and Company policy.


12. Must be able to obtain and maintain certification through the Private Investigators Licensing Board (PILB). This process may take 6-8 weeks under normal circumstances.


13. Perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above.


14. Show awareness and support of the Company Ethics Program.


15. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

EDUCATION : High School diploma or equivalent.


EXPERIENCE: Commercial and/or military security experience highly desirable. Must be able to successfully complete the Army required Physical Agility Test.
