(AFG-KANDAHAR) Tools and Parts Attendant
Job Summary
The Tools and Parts Attendant receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment.
Principal Accountabilities
- Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools
- Prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed
- Unpacks and stores new equipment
- Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors
- May coat tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun
- May attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledgeable of common aviation hand tools
- Knowledgeable of aviation special tools and test sets
- Knowledgeable of tool and FOD control program
- Knowledgeable of calibration program
- Knowledgeable of inventory control of tools and common hardware
- Able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
Experience & Education
- Three years general tool repair, control and issue experience
- Completion of high school desirable
- Completion of technical education a plus
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend, at the waist and knees and climb for most of the shift
- Might be expose to hot and cold environments for prolonged periods
- Must be able to meet physical, medical and other requirements as required by contracting agency.
