(AFG-KANDAHAR) Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor


Job Summary


The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor assists the Program Manager in planning, directing, controlling and monitoring performance to ensure satisfactory completion of the program objectives.


Principal Accountabilities


  • Assist Program Manager for all matters relating to the assigned contract between government personnel and the DynCorp management team.

  • Work with program management in identifying and maintaining quality assurance, environmental, health and safety programs, policies, processes, procedures and controls.

  • Ensure performance and quality conforms to established standards and governmental agency guidelines to ensure lasting customer satisfaction.

  • Establish and set the procedural elements of program management.

  • Manage the program to ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations including cost, quality and schedules while maintaining company profit motives.

  • Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, recognition and disciplinary actions.

  • Develop new business or expands the product line with the customer.

  • Establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules. Identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.

  • Direct the work of employees assigned to the program from technical and administrative areas.

  • Coordinate and/or approve local operating and personnel actions on behalf of the Program Manager, policies and procedures within the generalized framework of overall corporate guidelines.

  • Responsible for contract administrative functions including safety, security, and labor reporting.

  • Ensure adherence to established standards of individual performances and site discipline.

  • Provide a high degree of customer satisfaction by quality performance and best-return for their investment.

  • Work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, statistical process analyses and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements and meet specifications.

  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills


  • Ability to demonstrate executive, management, leadership and administrative skills.

  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical skills to support site operations.

  • Extensive knowledge of Department of Defense/Department of State, United States government structure and agency procedures and policies for identifying and developing potential business opportunities.

  • Proficiency in various computer programs desirable (ex: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles to manage properly all probable work tasks.

  • Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.

  • Strong background in the Contract Field Team Maintenance concept and its application to U.S. Military maintenance, modification and repair of tactical aircraft systems.

Experience & Education


  • BA, BS or BBA degree or ten (10) years related experience required.

  • Previous eperience with de Havilland Dash 7 / King Air 300/ 350 required

  • Completion of a U.S. military tactical aircraft maintenance or technical school is preferred.

  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience running site operations in remote locations.

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License required, IA preferred.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment


  • May be required to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable position.

  • Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.

  • Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.

  • Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices.

  • Individual must be immediately deployable to potential hostile/combat areas worldwide.

  • Living conditions may often be austere.

Travel


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Travel to potentially hostile and austere OCONUS environments may be required.
