(AFG-KABUL) Network Administrator Senior
Job Summary
The Network Administrator Senior installs, analyzes, evaluates, and supports network communications including LAN/WAN systems, data circuits, and related security devices. Works under general supervision and applies advanced network administrator knowledge on complex and diverse problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
- Installs, supports, and maintains new network hardware and software infrastructure.
- Provides network solutions to business and management requirements.
- Allocates network resources and monitors network performance and usage.
- Ensures most cost effective and efficient use of network resources.
- Ensures all IT equipment complies with industry and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoots, analyses, and resolves faults in operational networks.
- Ensures routine preventative maintenance and license compliance is performed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced knowledge of network routing protocols and how to analyze and configure
- Preferred CISCO Professional Certifications and Microsoft Professional Certifications.
- Ability to remain current on CISCO and Microsoft platforms.
- Demonstrate independent problem solving skills.
- Demonstrate good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers, including various country governments.
- Ability to uphold integrity and confidentiality with access to all information on the Company network.
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in an associated discipline
- Five (5) + years’ experience in network administration discipline
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- In general, works in a normal office environment.
- Must be able to lift and rack network systems as needed.
- For OCONUS positions, living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally may be required.
Additional Experience & Education:
- Must have experience in the administration and management of UNIX/NT and other computer systems.
- Must be able to perform systems functions to include access management, software test, evaluation, and installation, troubleshooting, and backup and recovery procedures on a variety of computer platforms.
- Individual must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain multiple systems and to performing day-to-day duties to ensure efficient system operation and system availability. Must have knowledge of computer devices associated with input storage and retrieval of digital data.
- Must possess knowledge of programming techniques for development, testing, debugging, and documentation of programs. Individual should be able to evaluate data processing project proposals and assess project feasibility, prepare and review operational reports, adjust schedules to meet priorities, and prepare progress reports.
