(AFG-Kabul) DFAC Trainer
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING
Requirement Overview:
The Dining Facility Trainer shall implement and operate programs, practices, and procedures for developing optimal utilization of personnel. Design and administer programs to train all levels of personnel. Develop tests and visual aids. Coordinate class arrangements, conduct training classes, and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keep abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory and new materials, methods and techniques. Develop programs and practices to identify developmental needs including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. If required, may use technical experts to assist in training.
Work Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to twelve (12) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.
Responsibilities:
* Primarily responsible for the preparation and service of food in garrison food service operations and must have at least 5 years’ experience in the food services field.
* Train the DFAC manager/s to perform the minimum skills below to independently operate a Dining Facility;
oProvide direct operational oversight and supervision for assigned Dining Facility
oMenu Development, and provide cross-leveling coordination and support as required to ensure all menu items are available
oCoordinate DFAC rations, supplies, equipment, and equipment maintenance
oFood and Beverage Service
oFood Preparation
oFood Processing & Packaging for transport
oFood Safety and Sanitization Procedures
oInventory Management and Distribution
oStorage of Perishable and Nonperishable items
oOperate and Maintain Field Kitchens
* Responsible for regularly interacting with US military personnel
* Based on circumstances that are unique to their work locations, the trainer will be responsible for making on the scene decisions as to how to execute the curriculum
* Along with their local site managers, the trainer will be responsible for assessing how well
the ANA students have learned the coursework
Required Operational, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- At least 6 years’ experience in the food services field to include US military food services (E6/WO or higher) with a military specialty of 92G (Food Service Specialist) or service equivalent or worked as a civilian in a similar capacity either as a contractor (LOGCAP services) or USG Civil Servant in food services.
- Must be able to competently operate a Personal Computer to include excellent skills with MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel, etc.)

- Good Organizational Skills
- Good Project Management Ability and Skills
- Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
* Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
* Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
* Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.
* Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
* Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
* Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
* Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
* Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
* Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
* Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
* Employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
* The individual may be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
* Prefer Infantry or Special Operations background
* Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers
Required Education:
* Must have a Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of related work experience. Additional years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
