Summary:
Individuals proposed under this labor category shall show experience in the principles of organization, purpose, operation, and management of airfield operational areas.
Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described – performs related duties as requested)
Airfield Managers coordinate all airfield functions and tasking with users, providers, and resources personnel. These individuals maintain ensure control of airport safety and security measures as may be necessary. They shall demonstrate familiarity with navigational aids, communications, and basic aircraft design characteristics. Airfield Managers shall demonstrate knowledge of ICAO and/or FAA and DOD regulations, flight data and NOTAM systems, and appropriate guidelines. These individuals shall demonstrate an understanding and the ability to apply the guidelines and directives set forth in local operating procedures.

Education & Experience:
- These individuals shall have a minimum of 4 years of experience as an airfield manager.
License & Certifications:
- Successful completion of a DOD or FAA approved airfield management course or equivalent.
Knowledge & Skills:
Manage airfield operations to ensure a safe, efficient and effective airfield environment.
Must have proficient knowledge of airfield criteria and standards, airfield parking operations and characteristics, airfield driving, maintaining and managing an airfield, safety and security, and waivers.
Must be highly experienced in Federal Aviation Administration, DOD, and International Civil Aeronautical Organization (ICAO) regulations and standards pertaining to airfield criteria and flight planning requirements.
Inspect runways, taxiways, parking aprons, pavements, arresting systems, signs, lighting and airfield clearance areas.
Respond to in-flight and ground emergencies, report wildlife and foreign object debris and any situation that affects flight safety on the airfield.
Use electronic or mechanical equipment during snowy conditions to determine the runway braking action for aircraft to land or take off safely.
Maintain and produce information regarding the safe operation of aircraft on the airfield and through the national and international guidelines.
Use air-to-ground and land-mobile radios to coordinate airfield operations with aircraft and other base agencies.
Coordinate airfield support with various agencies, such as air traffic control, transient alert, aircraft maintenance, fire department, snow removal and sweeper operations.
Must be able to use Word and Excel.
