GMMS Specialist [Top Secret Clearance]
PAE is currently seeking a GMMS Specialist to support the US Department of State and will be stationed at Kabul, Afghanistan. The candidate will work on construction and maintenance sites including exposure to the dangers inherent with such sites.
The GMMS Specialist will:
Operate, manage and supervise the DOS Global Maintenance Management System (GMMS) system ensuring the 300 plus daily customer repair requests are processed and distributed to tradesman in a timely manner.
Performing GMMS data entry for work orders as required.
Processing invoices, notices to proceed (NTP) and other documents related to a major operations and maintenance contract.
Provide time and attendance (T&A) processing for over 160 maintenance personnel.
Requisition office supplies and assist shop supervisors in ordering maintenance and repair parts through the DOS ILMS/Ariba software suite.
Direct Locally Employed (LE) staff when so directed and in emergencies situations.
Perform escort duties for maintenance and janitorial work in CAA spaces
Perform Other duties as assigned.
Be available for afterhours call outs and emergencies.
Travel periodically with extended overnight stays may be required to Camp Alvarado, Camp Sullivan and outlying sites in Afghanistan. Percentage of travel will vary significantly but on average is expected to be less than 10% of the total time.
Work in a traditional office setting with additional duties on and around an active U.S. Embassy and related DOS facilities in Afghanistan including exposure to the dangers inherent with traveling to and working on such sites. This assignment will include assignment in Cleared Access Area (CAA) facilities.
The GMMS Specialist must have following qualifications and experience to qualify for this position:
A High school diploma or GED required.
A Bachelor’s degree in an architecture and/or engineering discipline is preferred.
Experience and understanding of building trades, systems, equipment, construction, and computerized maintenance management skills is required.
Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to produce letters, reports, and presentations is required.
Previous experience with the Department of State, GMMS system is preferred.
At least 2 years of experience supporting and processing technical or/and non-technical requests using a robust software is required.
Prior experience in data entry is required.
Ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and prepare daily reports and work orders.
Must have good organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
Knowledge in the discipline of operations and maintenance projects in an international environment preferred.
Ability to work effectively with multi-cultural workforce.
Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment preferred.
Citizenship: US Citizenship is required for this position.
Clearance: Must have an active Top Secret security clearance.
Must be willing to travel periodically (with extended overnight stays) as required while working on projects at other locations in Afghanistan.
