Provide server administration and systems
administration in support of the US Army Intelligence & Security Command
(INSCOM), Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) and 1

Information
Operations Command (1
st
IO) headquartered at the INSCOM
facility on Fort Belvoir, VA. The employee will support a Windows 2012 R2
server environment across multiple networks varying in classification up to and
beyond the TS/SCI level classification. The employee will manage a virtual
laboratory, utilizing Vmware Vsphere and its components. The Employee will work
with customers to support the classified and unclassified environments.
Duties and
Responsibilities
- Configuration management of the
virtual servers and work stations
- Administration of the virtual
environment within the lab through the use of a variety of tools and
applications including VMWare, ESXi, vSphere client and vCenter.
- Monitor Virtual environment
during use by client workforce
- Determine Storage needs and
usages for all test lab simulations
- Document before and after testing
and use of the lab systems to ensure peak performance and that the systems
operated as requested.
- Ensure all systems are properly
updated with approved security patches and software updates within the
specified timeframe.
- Perform and monitor backups of
lab storage systems
- Creates and implements
deployment packages and utilizes configuration management tools such as
SCCM.
- Implements and conducts daily
analysis of IA vulnerability security requirements utilizing Retina Security
Software
- Responsible for operations,
upgrades, and modifications of computer systems and peripherals in the
laboratory environment
- Generally applies broad
technical skills to address system issues, ensure availability and quickly
restore operability of mission-critical services in the INSCOM G6
Laboratory.
- Provides on-site support
primarily during standard business hours and/or contractually mandated
core hours (some 8 hour period between the hours of 0600-1800 hours),
Monday through Friday; provides occasional support outside of core
business hours.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS in Information Technology
field (or substitute 4-8 years relevant experience)
- 2 years of current experience
in the performance of computer systems support in a secure operating
environment.
- Strong Knowledge of VMware
products including vCenter and vSphere and an ability to manage virtually
hosted systems and environments.
- Working knowledge of MS Active
Directory, MS Windows Server 2012, and/or Windows Server 2008.
- Ability to perform duties in
the Department of Defense’s (DOD) classified and unclassified environments
including JWICS, SIPRNET, and NIPRNET.
- High level of problem solving
skills and the ability to recommend and implement alternative set-up
and/or operations for complex systems.
- Detail-oriented and possesses
the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to provide incident and
after action reports and analysis.
- Excellent customer service
skills and professional presence. Strong oral and written communication
skills; ability to read, speak and effectively communicate in the English
language.
- Solid work ethic.
- Top Secret/SCI Clearance
- IAT Level II (i.e. security +
ce or CCNA-Security, etc..)
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Security Technical
Implementation Guides (STIGS) for Operating Systems and Applications.
- Understanding of Remedy ITSM
ticketing system with ability to create, modify and resolve incidents and
service requests.
- Understanding of PKI desired.
- Working
knowledge
and use of the windows command
prompt; ability to conduct standard troubleshooting activities with the
command prompt, such as group policy updates, address resolution, and
directory navigation.
- Knowledge and competency in the
identification, assessment and troubleshooting of computer system
components including motherboards, memory, mass storage interfaces, and
BIOS firmware.
- Ability to configure Microsoft
Office product components (including MS Outlook, and MS Lync) given
exchange parameters for DoD enterprise mail; able to configure and perform
email configuration and maintenance including the creation and management
of .OST and .PST
- Understanding and ability to
map shared network drives to the end users workstation
- Solid understanding of computer
networks (LANs, net connections and IP) including common ports and
protocols
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to frequently lift,
carry or otherwise move and position computer/network equipment weighing
up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently bend,
kneel and crouch during computer system equipment troubleshooting,
maintenance, assembly/disassembly, installation/de-installation, and
sustainment
- May be required to drive
vehicle if needed to perform tasks at satellite facilities in the National
Capital Region (NCR).
