Software Tester I Part Time - Tapestry Solutions - St. Louis, MO
Position Summary
Responsible for maintaining and executing existing test frameworks and scripts. This position will assist with the maintenance of test plans and test cases and troubleshoot test problems.
Essential Functions
Execute and maintain test suites and test cases for new and existing products
Report and manage defects Regression test software fixes for new and existing products
Participate in Requirements and Functional Specifications reviews of new features and verify these requirements are reflected in the test specifications Document, troubleshoot and follow up on issues found during testing
Actively work with other members of the QA team to constantly improve the process, tools and effectiveness of the team
Assist Development with replicating and debugging problems
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Job Functions
(if applicant possesses software development skills, may also):
Create and maintain test automated testing scripts (and the configuration of the jobs that run them) for new and existing products
Collaborate with manual testers to translate test cases they write into scripts that correctly test the desired functionality
Document automation best practices and techniques
Maintain and adhere to software quality and coding standards
Typical Education and/ or Experience Qualifications
Enrolled in higher education or 1 year of equivalent experience.
Preferred: automation work is available to those who have completed or are enrolled in entry-level computer science courses or equivalent coursework/experience.
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Aptitude for cross group collaboration
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Good investigation skills
Preferred Experience in object-oriented or scripting language(s) is required to participate in automation work: (e.g. Java, C++, C, C#, ActionScript, Flex, JavaScript, ASP.Net, XML, Web APIs such as REST and SOAP)
