(AFG-KANDAHAR) Site Manager 3
Job Summary
Coordinates and oversees the day to day operations, maintenance, personnel, and services at assigned FOB (Forward Operating Base) ensuring quality to the customer.
Principal Accountabilities
- Manages a large array of services and accompanying labor force for assigned location
- Oversee sub-contract agreements with local companies providing labor, equipment and supplies
- Direct administrative and operational departments, managers and supervisors
- Manage diverse team of U.S. nationals supervising skilled, semi skilled foreign and local nationals
- Conduct meetings with the military customers to ensure that all requirements are met as defined in the Statement of Work
- Develops and executes briefings and presentations, as needed
- Communicate new requirements, concerns, and issues to PMO for resolution
- Provide administrative and operation direction to LOGCAP IV employees in the Area of Operations
- Ensure that LOGCAP IV requirements are met for employee health, morale, and welfare
- Ensure that employees adhere to LOGCAP IV, Armed Forces and host nation standards of conduct concerning in-theater operations
- Effectively manage any LOGCAP IV employee management issues that may arise
- Oversee equipment and material within assigned area of responsibility
- Coordinate and Oversee arrival, retrofit, and upgrade of equipment and material as assigned
- Directs the weekly and monthly collaboration and collection of data for quality input to PEBs or AFEB
- Directs and/or submits timely reports required by the United States Government
- Directs and oversees the development and integration of evolving site functions and personnel
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensures resources are applied to achieve highest standards of service to client specifications
- Monitors standards and completes relevant documentation
- Implements training programs
- Plans and oversees the execution of any additional services requested by the client
- Provides leadership and direction to Department/Section Managers/Supervisors
- Give direction and oversight pertaining but not limited to the following areas: operation and maintenance, food service, construction, hazardous material, waste management, contracts, and power generation
Knowledge & Skills
- General knowledge of some of the following areas is highly desired: operations and maintenance, food service, general construction, hazardous material, waste management, contracts, and/or power generation
- General knowledge of: base operations, municipality operation and/or public works is desired but not necessary
- Sound management background displaying ability to staff, organize, lead and manage a diverse work force larger than 250 people
- Knowledge of US military operations and contracting support in a contingency environment
- Knowledge of cultural, economic, geopolitical, and military issues of the Mid East and/or Arab-speaking countries within that region desired
- Excellent communications skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced organizational skills, computer literacy, and demonstrated expertise of research methodologies.
- Ability to exercise discretion and make effective decisions
- Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team
- Outstanding problem solving skills and sound judgment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Highly flexible
- Must hold a U.S. passport
Experience & Education
- Seven (7) years of experience with site management or leadership equivalent
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline
- U.S. military experience desired
- LOGCAP/Military management experience is highly desired
- Work experience in remote/austere/hazardous environments desired
- Management experience over large project needed
- Several years of experience in one or several of the following industries: operations and maintenance, general construction, hazardous material, waste management, and/or power generation
- Background in working with diverse cultures, as well as workers from various industries/trades highly desired
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Willingness to travel and work in various locations in the world
- Willingness to work shifts and extended hours in support of 24/7 operations
- Good physical condition
- Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
