(AFG-Kabul) MD-530F Instructor Pilot

Job Description: The USG has a requirement for three (3) MD-530 Instructor Pilots to assist in curriculum development, instruction and advising to Afghan Air Force Mission Qualified Evaluator Pilots and Initial Qualified Rotary Wing Pilots. The MD530 Flight Training program provides personnel for training services as curriculum developers, instructors and advisor personnel. Relevant subject matter includes the training IAW the Convention on International Civil Aviation standards as defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for aircraft systems, ground operations, general aircraft handling, instrument procedures, emergency procedures, crew resource management, and tactical employment. Class sizes can be as large as 30 students/year
Instructor pilots shall participate in team, technical, and working group meetings as required; prepare briefings to be presented to the US Government customer as related to this effort; responsible to function within the RTN staff; provide inputs to Warfighter FOCUS/Warrior Training Alliance management; participate in the planning process and recommend improvement opportunities. Instructor Pilots shall tailor the training required based on the qualifications of the individual student pilot.
Work Location: Kabul Air Wing, KIA, Afghanistan or other location in Afghanistan as required and determined by the United States Government.
Required Hours: Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while in CONUS.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Air Force advisors on a daily basis Assist and develop a glide path for the AAF to meet Capability Milestones (CM). Assess the AAF’s progress toward CMs and balance assessment with AAF aptitude, personnel availability, and resource constraints. Provide daily, weekly reports, presentations as required to WFF Program Area Director, Support Mission Conduct proficiency-based aircraft commander training in three (3) phases: Conduct ground instruction to include: aircraft systems, ground operations, general aircraft handling, instrument procedures, emergency procedures, crew resource management, tactical employment, 10-15 hours per week. Flight instruction to include: checklist procedures, ground operations, general aircraft handling, instrument procedures, emergency procedures, crew resource management, tactical employment Sorties will consist of required currency training, upgrade training, recurring annual flight evaluations Develop products and train Afghan Air Force student pilots ranging in experience level from initial qualification level to seasoned aviator. Adhere to all scheduled timelines, milestones, delivery schedules and administrative requirements to include on-time delivery of reports, data products, billing invoices, staffing of personnel and action team completion.
* Ensure timely problem identification and development of corrective action plans impacting the contract.
Develop curriculum, train, advise, assist and mentor AAF pilots as required in MD-530F aviation curriculum and program of instruction including ICAO level 4 English language proficiency
Required Qualifications: 1500 rotary wing flight hours, 500 pilot in command hours, 100 instructor pilot hours Possess and maintain a current FAA Second Class medical Certificate as a condition of employment Possess a thorough knowledge of the appropriate aviation-related and aircraft specific systems-related subject areas along with the ability to impart effective instruction using computer-based presentation equipment in a MS Windows-based operating environment and/or platform classroom type delivery. Possess experience and proficiency with regard to military rotary wing aircraft qualification training. Possess previous qualifications as a DoD flight examiner or possess a current FAA/CAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating. Possess a familiarity with ICAO flight regulations
Must possesses an active US Secret clearance and be able to maintain throughout contract.

Required Education:
* Bachelor’s Degree in related field, and 8 years of related work experience. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of educational requirement.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
* Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
* Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
* Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.
* Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
* Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
* Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
* Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
* Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
* Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
* Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
* Employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
* The individual may be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.
Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders. All tours are unaccompanied
