(AFG-Kabul) EOD Robotics Repair (ROV-R) Instructor


JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, candidate will conduct EOD Robotics Operator Maintenance and Repair (ROMR) training to Afghanistan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF).

Candidate must have previous training experience in teaching EOD robotic repair courses.


Robotics Repair Instructor will ensure that training objectives are completed on time following established training curriculum and schedules; conduct daily training and actively assist or provide direction to students as required; conduct daily repairs and upgrade installations of training robots.

WORK HOURS:

Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Train ANDSF robotics repair technicians.

* Participate in post-course evaluations.

* Participate in continual improvement process.

* Providing post-training assessments of student performance and present feedback during After Action Reviews (AAR) at the conclusion of training.

* Utilize Train the Trainer (T3) techniques.

* Assist the FSR Lead with all reports and administrative duties.

* Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* 4 Years experience with an accredited Bachelors degree, Or 2 years with Masters degree. High School diploma or GED and eight years of additional experience (12 total years) may be accepted in lieu of the degree requirement.

* Talon/Pacbot repair experience.

* Experience in basic electronics.

* Experience in teaching robotics operations and/or EOD robotic repair courses.

* Ability and willingness to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government to include hostile areas.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel

* Ability to obtain & maintain a US DoD Secret security clearance.

* Valid US Passport with at least 1 year validity.

* Must be able to obtain & maintain an Afghan visa.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs. per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.

* Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.

* Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.

* Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.

* Ability walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day; routinely climb / descend stairs; routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders; read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear.

* Must be willing and able to travel outside of protected areas via military convoys or MILAIR, and wear protective clothing and equipment as required. In the conduct of their training contractors may encounter hostile forces.

* Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.

* Employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.

* The individual may be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.

* Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders. All tours are unaccompanied.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience repairing/operating the MMP-30 ROV.

* Prior military, E6 or higher.

* Involvement with training ANDSF.

* Thorough understanding of US and coalition military organizations, roles and missions.

* Curriculum development experience, specifically in continual improvement efforts to determine the efficacy of training programs and organizational training principles and practices.

* Incorporation of Lessons Learned and TTP’s.

* National military EOD qualification as an EOD operator to minimum of NATO STANAG 2389 (EOD)

* Active DoD Secret security clearance.
