(AFG-Bagram) Lead Logistics Clerk OCONUS (Afghan)
This position is contingent upon contract award.
SUMMARY
Assist the Logistics Managers to supervise and lead a team of logistic clerks during daily activities required to support AAR’s aircraft fleet, personnel and the customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Update and distribute all reports such as the ASR, inventory cycle counts, shelf life, HAZMAT, audits, calibrated tools, etc.
Expeditiously respond to all e-mail inquiries and phone calls that pertain to logistics and customer service.
Immediately administer appropriate reward or disciplinary actions as required to maintain an orderly work environment.
Disseminate workload and tasks to all employees and ensure all items are completed in a timely manner.
Scan all documents to the appropriate personnel in Melbourne such as Purchase Orders, Certifications, Invoices, etc.
Manage the employee work schedule as needed and update the appropriate personnel for any changes made.
Maintain clean and organized inventory storage areas, other storage facilities, work space, offices, and surroundings.
Store, tag, identify and provide the necessary environmental and physical protection for all of the companys inventory.
Segregate serviceable and unserviceable parts per company policies and acquire needed paperwork to store or ship.
Perform and document monthly inspections by verifying part number, serial number, certifications, and company documents.
Retain and file purchase orders, base transfers, Air Way Bills, Non-Manifested Cargo and parts traceability forms.
Provide proper storage, shipment, and locate Material Safety Data Sheets for all hazardous items stored and shipped.
Create logs, monitor, sign-in/out, and send for calibration or repair any company tools or equipment.
Arrange shipping of materials worldwide to include hazardous materials on commercial, military, and company aircraft.
Verify shipping documentation and accurately receive, tag, prepare, and process for inspection all incoming materials.
Attention to detail; perform an accurate inventory of spare parts and help to determine appropriate inventory levels.
Participate as needed in the Quality and Safety Audit program and brief auditors as needed on work responsibilities.
Issue all parts, using a pick ticket, to maintenance personnel, and update computerized inventory records immediately.
Issue tools using the sign-in/out logs and ensure that all tooling is verified and returned at the end of each shift.
Inventory, seal, track and sign-in/out weapons, ammo, ITAR plates and all other Aviation Survival Gear.
Use forklift to load and unload aircraft to include fixed wing and rotary wing and trucks with extremely expensive parts.
Operate a 20-foot manual transmission cargo truck and monitor aircraft arrival and departures using flight trackers.
Adaptable; able to use basic carpentry skills to build and tear down crates for arriving and departing shipments.
Ability to communicate clearly with customers, and all AAR employees for parts distribution, expedite AOG, etc.
Position requires a U.S. Security Clearance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
REQUIRED:
- High School diploma or GED
PREFERRED:
- Associates degree from an accredited university or college
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of previous supply / logistics experience.
Two (2) years experience with 6K – 10K Forklift Operator.
Aviation supply experience.
Desire to work 12-hour days, 7-days a week for duration of deployment cycle in an active war zone.
Able to reside in very small living quarters, using porta johns, and community showers.
Physically able to walk long distances to and from work over large rocks in extremely hot, cold, and extreme dusty weather.
Able to train employees.
Professional who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete task of moderate scope and complexity.
Exercises judgement within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.
Capable of maintaining confidentiality.
PREFERRED:
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Experience with WinAir/Trax software.
