Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant - Nutrition & Education International - Pasadena, CA

Nutrition and Education International (NEI) is an international NGO based in Pasadena, California

End malnutrition among impoverished women and children living in high mortality regions.

To reduce/defeat malnutrition, especially among women and children in impoverished areas. Since 2003 NEI has been developing a sustainable soy industry in Afghanistan in collaboration and partnership with many Afghan ministries and international food security organizations.

Qualifications preferred:

• Associates or Bachelor degree in accounting or related field preferred.


• 2+ years experience in bookkeeping/accounting.


• 2+ years experience with Intuit Quickbooks pro is a must.


• General knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software.


• Good Excel skills

Skills required:

• Must speak and write English


• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.


• Ability to learn quickly and follow directions.


• Ability to work independently and be flexible.


• Experience working with QuickBooks (mandatory)


• Skilled in data entry, 10-key, typing


• Excellent filing and organizational skills.


• Ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment.

Ability to handle a high volume of transactions and data entry with minimal errors

Job Responsibilities:

• Bank account reconciliations.


• General bookkeeping, QuickBooks and data entry.


• Posting Account Payable.


• Special projects as needed.


• Provide clerical and administrative support to Management


• Assist year-end financial reporting process.


• Printing and filing

This position can be Full-Time or Part-Time approx 30 hrs./week.
$30,000 per year or $14.62/hr.

Salary: $30.00 /year
