The position is to provide support on British Military Camps in
Afghanistan.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring application and compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Activity specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Ensuring delivery of assigned tasks in strict accordance with the authority’s requirements and specifications in a timely manner.
Management of personnel and sub contractors, as directed, in the performance of the assigned tasks.
Ensuring the appropriate QA/QC and technical documentation is applied to and enforced on the various assigned tasks
Duties:
Providing guidance on codes of practice, BS EN standards and best practice.
Ensuring appropriate Safe Systems of Work are applied and enforced.
Oversee appointed sub contractors and staff employed on Ordered Works tasks.
Prepare option studies and develop new works proposals in consultation with the client.
Produce Rough Order of Costs (ROC) and Firm Offers (FO) from take offs and pricing of equipment and materials on assigned tasks.
Initiate ordering, correctly identification of materials to enable procurement via the Logistic & Procurement SRS system.
Attend and run site and progress meetings / site inspections and handover boards.
Plan sequence of works and monitor project progress.
Advise and liaise with project client, stakeholder and end user.
Resolve site issues and conflicts.
Develop concept designs and scope of works for ITT action for subcontractor works and carry out subsequent tender evaluation on tender submissions.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Must be of a Technical status and have a minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification experience.
Must hold HNC, HND or equivalent or higher qualifications in an appropriate discipline together with relevant experience. (Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Building Technology, Construction or Civil Engineering).

Experience in Construction Health and Safety with a second level qualification e.g. appropriate CSCS Card
·
Experience in all aspect of construction site management
Preferred:
·
Experience on MOD working practices and procedures
·
MOD approved Authorised Person qualifications
·
Accredited qualification in either electrical and mechanical engineering and experience in the other discipline.
·
Previous experience in execution of deployed project locations
·
Emergency First Aid
·
Management of Health and Safety
