(AFG-Kabul) Infrastructure Architect

Responsibilities:
Coordinates project team staff in production of presentation and documentation covering all phases of design and construction of corrections facilities.
Proposes, designs, coordinates, and constructs infrastructure projects of any size.
Mentors the Infrastructure Program Management Team (IPMT).
Trains, mentors, and advises the Afghan Infrastructure personnel.
Oversees and directs the IPMT. Identifies and proposes solutions to prison infrastructure problems with economical, workable, durable, reliable, sustainable ideas and products.
Advises INL regarding prison infrastructure issues at their request.
Ensures cost-effective and efficiency standards are met in all design and construction plans.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
* The Architect should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture Design, Civil Engineering, and includes current licensure within the United States as an Architect.
3 years in design, supervision and implementation of correctional facilities, jails, or criminal justice complex construction projects.
Must have the ability to obtain, maintain and access to classified information
Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience working in a similar position for an INGO or an international organization is preferred. Must have willingness to travel to Afghanistan field offices.
Must also have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. In addition, must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.
Able to create and interpret construction / engineering drawings and specifications, to ensure all construction meets to initial design and specifications.
Skilled with multiple programs of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; to include a working knowledge of AutoCAD and other architectural drawing software.
Must have the ability to obtain, maintain and access to classified information.
Must be a US Citizen.
