(AFG-Kabul) Elevator Technician (Secret)

PAE is currently seeking an


Elevator Technicianto support PAE’s American Embassy, Kabul [Expanded Facilities] contract in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Responsibilities:


The Elevator Technician will:

* Test, inspect, repair and maintain Embassy, consulate and TDY house elevators.



  • Coordinate and monitor the work for contract elevator services with the DOS Facilities Manager.




  • Perform maintenance, repair, minor modifications and revisions of Embassy Complex passenger elevators.




  • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with published schedules, operating procedures and equipment warranties.




  • Provide input to upgrade content and frequency of preventative maintenance tasks.




  • Conduct tests of equipment using voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, continuity testers, feeler gauges, frequency counters and other test equipment considered tools of the trade.




  • Receive and accomplish all work utilizing the Embassy work order system (WOW)




  • Comply with all related published directives, standard operating procedures and preventative maintenance procedures.




  • Perform a wide variety of elevator related routine electrical maintenance and repair functions of general nature as required.




  • Comply with all Environmental Safety and Health and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.




  • Provide documentation to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.




  • Maintain workplace program and ensures safety is the highest priority in the work place.




  • Perform other duties as required.



Qualifications:



  • High school graduate or GED is required.




  • Completion of Elevator apprenticeship program with Journeyman certificate is required.




  • At least five years experience in the testing, inspection, repair and servicing of elevators is required.




  • Experience must include familiarity with working sketches, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturers’ operations and maintenance manuals.




  • State issued elevator certification is required.




  • Training certification from a major elevator manufacturer is preferred.




  • Previous overseas experience is highly desirable.




  • Strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting is required.




  • Previous experience supporting Base Operations is preferred.




  • Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.




  • Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.




  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.




  • Knowledge of Department of State Contracting, safety and construction requirements is highly desirable.




  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.




  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.




  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.




  • Must be flexible, and able to work in a diverse global organization.




  • US Citizenship is required.




Must have a current Secret or Top Secret clearance. US Citizenship is mandatory to possess this Clearance.
