Overview:

Responsibilities:


The Electrician duties/responsibilities to include: – Maintains system components and elements by troubleshooting, testing, repairing, adjusting, calibrating, and cleaning – Stays current with code revisions as stipulated in the National Electrical Code and Local Electrical Codes – Reads and works to the indicated accuracy, specifications, and tolerances as detailed on engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, machine construction prints, blueprints, sketches, equipment manual, and vendor diagrams – Performs mathematical calculations, including trigonometry, to determine electrical circuit characteristics, and mechanical dimensions – Troubleshoots, tests, installs, repairs, and makes standard adjustments to alternating current and direct current, rotating equipment such as motors and generators which range in size from fractional horsepower to hundreds of horsepower. Installs, adjusts, and aligns motor drive components such as belts and couplings – Provides and maintains the minimum required quality and quantity of personal hand tools for use on the job as listed by Maintenance and Machine Shop management – Operates hand tools, wrenches, air and electric powered portable hand tools, machine tools, and a variety of mechanical and electronic test equipment – Sets up and operates shop equipment such as dynamic balances, electric drills, pipe cutters, pipe benders, pipe threaders, electric hammers, conduit benders, power saws, drill presses, lathes, and hand tools in support of repair work – Interprets the results of mechanical and electrical testing devices to the test equipment manufacturer’s specification of accuracy Knowledge of principles including the purpose, proper application, and design limitations of electrical power distribution system components and elements such as substation switch gear, low and high voltage circuit breakers, fault indicators, motors, motor contractors, conduit, conduit fittings, wet and dry transformers, insulators, meters, relays, switches, cables, cable splices, and cable termination


Qualifications:


  • Possess a current and valid NEC Certified Master Electricians license. – A minimum of (10) ten years of industrial electrical maintenance work experience – Experience working with AC & DC variable speed motor controls – Experience working with PLCs and Process Controls – Experience operating hand tools, small power tools, multi-meters and various test equipment – Experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals and troubleshooting problems to make adjustments and repairs – Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other people – Ability and desire to work as a multi-skilled electrical craftsperson – US Citizenship is required – Ability to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust – Ability to be medically cleared for servce PAE is an equal opportunity employer and drug free workplace.
