Position: Training Manager
Location: CONUS – Training Headquarters, Montross, VA
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: The Training Manager is responsible to
the Director of Training for the planning, resourcing
and day to day conduct of all Aegis training operations
worldwide. Critically he is the line manager for the
Aegis instructional staff and is responsible for
planning their work schedules and rotations. He is also
responsible for the correct and compliant delivery of
all training curriculum. The Training Manager must be
prepared to deploy CONUS and/or OCONUS in order to
support or manage any Aegis training activities as
required, and he must be prepared to deputize for the
Director of Training in his absence.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the day to day conduct of all Aegis training
instructors at a number of different CONUS and
OCONUS training locations, and plan their schedules
and rotations.
- Working without supervision and capable of managing
a range of complex time sensitive issues without
immediate support from Corporate Headquarters.
- Supervise the daily execution of all WPS training
and conduct QC checks to ensure the training
curriculum, its execution and the equipment utilized
are all compliant with the DoS WPS Base Contract
(including Exhibits E & F), especially where
sub-contractors are being utilized to deliver
services.
- Plan and issue purchase orders for training courses
in response to operational demands as directed by
the Director of Training.
- Lead responsibility for the updating, rewriting and
period review of all Aegis WPS curriculum, including
incorporating any new amendments that reflect WPS II
requirements.
- Assist in the development of contingency training
plans to include change of vendor, change of CONUS
or OCONUS training venue and self-performance
options.
- Provide operational knowledge and experience to the
students of WPS operations on KESF, Afghanistan and
deliver theater specific orientation training to the
student body.
- Counsel students when necessary (ie for poor
performance, attitude) and make recommendations on
suitability for employment on WPS operations to the
Director of Training.
- Prepare reports for the Director of Training as
required. Provide specific reports on the
performance of the training sub- contractor, all
Aegis Instructors and Aegis students in training.
- Be prepared to deploy CONUS and/or OCONUS as an
instructor with the Aegis Training Team.
- Design training courses for Aegis non-WPS training
requirements.
- Additional duties as required to meet the business
needs of the contract/client
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the tasking, wellbeing and conduct
of all Aegis instructors, and the completion of
their annual appraisals.
- Supervise the Training Site Coordination Manager and
TCN training Manager as required.
- Task corporate departments in the coordination of
travel arrangements.
- Supervise Corporate HR, Security and Deployments
staff present at the training site at the start of
all classes.

Crucial Requirements and Abilities:
Must have an active DoS SECRET clearance.
A Bachelor’s degree with 3 years tactical training
experience, or 7-10 years of tactical training
experience to include specifically 2 years operational
deployed service on a DoS WPS contract.
A minimum of 5 years management experience with the US
Military, Law Enforcement or as a security contractor on
a US Government overseas protective security contract.
Must have successfully completed WPS PSS in the last 5
years.
Must have successfully completed WPS BFFOC in the last 5
years.
Must have outstanding interpersonal skills, and be
confident to effectively brief large groups of students
and instructors.
Must be able to work effectively and independently with
minimal supervision.
Must be technically competent to supervise a cadre of
highly skilled and experienced WPS instructors.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of
the time
The employee is frequently required to move about inside
the office to access file cabinets, office machinery,
etc. The employee is occasionally required to stand;
climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The
employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50
pounds.
Work Environment: The employee will work in a
temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent
exposure to electronic office equipment. Position may
require OCONUS travel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Discrete, with ability to handle and protect highly
sensitive personnel/security data.
- Experience with fingerprinting is desired.
- Knowledge of PCL and Public Trust processing with
DoD and DoS.
- Proficiency with the JPAS and e-QIP systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team
player.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume
environment.
- Ardent attention to detail.
