Property & Logistics Specialist - IAP Worldwide Services, Inc - Cape Canaveral, FL
Summary:
Performs tasks related to management, control, inventory, issue and receipt of client and IAP Property and Material with the OCONUS Middle-East North Africa (MENA) region projects. Ensure compliance with client & company policies, programs, procedures and strategies related to inventory control and proper consumption. Monitors inventory balances continuously to ensure over consumption or unauthorized consumption is not occurring. Coordinate day-to-day operation of all aspects of logistics (i.e., distribution, inventory control, fulfillment, etc.). Coordinate logistics activities with internal/external customers. Serves as a logistics liaison between IAP Logistics Staff, OCONUS agencies and freight forwarders. Perform inventories as necessary of IAP capital and non-capital assets within the OCONUS-MENA region assigned in Afghanistan.
Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described – performs related duties as requested)
Conducts inventory audits in order to monitor production, consumption, and plant inventory levels.
Arrange warehousing and transportation of product to customer.
May investigate and respond to inquiries regarding distribution and shipping.
Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing property & material shipments and orders I/A/W directives
Maintain appropriate records and prepares reports; maintain records of materials in inventory and on order; and update information in the property/material system to maintain auditable records.
Recommend logistics plans that affect distribution & inventory materials in order to enhance product flow.
Support the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
May conduct distribution and network studies, monitor inventory and analyze requirements in order to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates.
Coordinate logistics activities with internal/external customers to meet operational mission demands.
Serves as a logistics liaison between IAP Logistics Staff, OCONUS agencies and freight forwarders.
Perform inventories as necessary of IAP capital/non-capital assets within the OCONUS region assigned.
Directs monthly physical inventories of all items in long term cargo storage; provide report/status
Tracks daily feedback/updates on logistics issues/plans that affect distribution to enhance product flow
Ensures proper kitting/packaging/configuration of all in/outbound cargo/freight (Air/Ground/Ocean)
Consolidates shipments to same destination to obtain best freight rates and enhance efficiencies
Maintain a logistics equipment database which fully describes capabilities/limitations of all modes of travel
Provide PMs with best shipping (surface, multi-modal, air, ground) options based on timelines and cost
Creates commercial invoices (CI) and packing lists (PL) I/A/W regional regulations and restrictions
Level of Supervision: Self-starter requiring minimal supervision with understanding of property, logistics and material management, leadership qualities/technically strong with deductive and logical thinking capabilities.
Education & Experience:
5 years of related USG Property experience
3-5 years of experience managing DOD or commercial shipping/transportation functional areas is required
Experience in Global Trade Compliance regulations and experience in negotiation of logistics related costs
PC literate (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio).
4 year degree in a field of study applicable to this field is desired License & Certifications: USG Property and HAZMAT Shipping
Knowledge & Skills:
Considerable knowledge of the supply chain operations including property, material and logistics.
Complete acquaintance with an understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
Demonstrated comprehension of the following property/material management functions: Property Management, Receiving, Identification, Utilization, Consumption, Physical Inventory Movement, Storage, Reports, Records, Disposition and Contract Closeout
Must have an understanding of material and property inventory procedures.
Must be able to reconcile inventory results and create an inventory report
Must be able to identify various items of property by sight.
Must be able to approach problems in a logical manner and solve them with available resources.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing; perform all essential functions of the position.
Ability to use good judgment when performing job functions and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to manage time and plan during contingency response while maintaining sustainment activities.
Well versed in DoD Service Component Logistics and Material Management concept of operations.
Physical Demands/Working Environment: Office/Warehouse/OCONUS – MENA Contingency Operations
Travel: 50-75% OCONUS (within the various theater of operations)
Security Clearance: Must a US citizen and hold or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
