Job Description Supports Fire Protection and Prevention Services operations within assigned area of responsibility (AOR). Provides fire protection services and fire prevention training. Performs base-wide fire inspections, provides smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, exit signs, and fire extinguishers. Develops and implements fire protection policies, training, planning, inspection, and reporting programs. Responsible for preparation and maintenance of reports, daily mission logs, and plans as needed. Expected to work in less than ideal conditions during periods of interruption to utilities services or other emergency conditions. Subject to stressful situations presented by persons requesting assistance.
Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh, dangerous working and living conditions, which may include carrying and wearing required personal protective equipment for extended periods of time.
Basic Job Requirements – High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and three (3) years related experience.
Other Job Requirements – Excellent communication skills in English required, both verbal and written;
– Must have required Fire Fighting certifications, qualifications, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications – Prior Military and/or Contingency Operations experience preferred.
