Hollywood Veterans Center is a residential facility for veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars that are experiencing severe levels of difficulty readjusting to civilian life. Residents have the goal of obtaining permanent housing, financial security, and a personal support system. What makes the program unique is individualized approach and focus on compassion and tolerance: we will emphasize service that builds personal growth, self-determination, and community reinforcement; we will take measures to ensure family preservation and/or reunification; and we will recognize and celebrate the achievements of the individual.


This is an As Needed Position


Responsibilities:The Monitor:


  • Provides general oversight to assure that safety and well-being of program participants

  • Oversees front desk operations including answering phones, completing phone intakes, monitoring front door, handling crisis intervention, and other required tasks

  • Provides respectful reminders and prompts to participants regarding house rules and personal attention to activities of daily living

  • Communicates with case management and clinical team about violations and participant non-compliance for handling by designated staff

  • Maintains check-in/out procedures with residents; accounts for all residents while on VOALA property, performs bed checks, and monitors surveillance cameras

  • Responds to emergencies by contacting ambulance, police, program manager, or other parties as warranted

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)

  • At least 1 year in residential treatment setting preferred

  • If recovering alcohol and/or drug user, at least one (1) year continuous sobriety

  • Strong interpersonal skills

Additional Requirements:

  • US Armed Forces Veteran preferred

  • Experience with administering prescription medications and drug/alcohol usage testing desirable
