Senior SATCOM Systems Engineer
Experience: 10+ years with Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
Clearance: Ability to obtain a US DoD SECRET clearance required
Salary Range: $110k – $125k based upon experience/skills/certifications
Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Position Duties:
Envistacom is seeking to hire a senior-level Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Systems Engineer to support our fast-growing C4ISR engineering team. Candidate will be required to perform systems engineering, project engineering, systems integration, systems design, component evaluation and selection, sales engineering support, tier-III technical support for field personnel, and other engineering functions. Familiarity with ARSTRAT certification process a plus.

Must be available to travel to work locations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS). Travel may occasionally include multi-week assignments to implement a SATCOM solution at a customer facility. Candidate will be required to occasionally participate in preparation of large and small technical proposals. Candidate will also be responsible for mentorship of project engineers, field engineers, and technicians.

Required Skills:

• Experience designing complex earth station teleport systems with large aperture fixed antennas (4.8M up to 16.1M; especially General Dynamics and ASC Signal/CPI)


• Experience designing large systems with Low Passive Intermodulation (Low-PIM) characteristics at X- and Ku-band


• Familiar with US Military tactical SATCOM systems such as Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T), SIPR/NIPR Access Point (SNAP), Support Wide Area Network (SWAN), and Deployable Ku-Band Earth Terminals (DKET)


• Able to develop an entire satellite communications system solution based on a customer’s Statement of Work inclusive of all subsystems, components, interconnections, etc.


• Able to create power budgets, heat budgets, signal block and level diagrams and other engineering calculations


• Able to create, redline, review and approve engineering schematics, signal diagrams, interconnect diagrams, wire run lists, and bills of material / parts lists


• Knowledge of various configuration management systems such as CMMI and ISO


• Ability to manage a team of engineering professionals across multiple projects


• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing, dynamic environment


• Ability to work well in a team environment

Desired Skills:

• Experience managing large antenna installation projects (4.8M-16.1M)


• Middle East travel experience


• Willingness and ability to travel to overseas locations such as Europe, South/Central America, Caribbean, Australia, as well as specific locations in Southwest Asia including Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Pakistan and Afghanistan


• Conversational Spanish a plus


• Department of Defense background


• Experience with teleport operations

Education/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required
Experience:
10+ years in SATCOM systems engineering required
20+ years experience in the SATCOM industry preferred
