Development Coordinator - Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America - New York, NY
Based in our New York City Headquarters, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) is seeking a Development Coordinator, Administration. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization as it enters its second decade at the forefront of the veterans’ movement, advocating for our newest generation of heroes.
The Development Coordinator will be granted an opportunity to gain development experience in a fast-paced, demanding environment. S/he will play an integral role on the Development team by handling a multitude of responsibilities including: prospect and donor research, drafting of both internal and external communications, data entry utilizing IAVA’s donor management database and flexible support for fundraising events.
The Development Coordinator, Administration will report directly to the Chief Resources Officer.
Responsibilities
Daily donor data input and tracking fundraising efforts using Salesforce — IAVA’s donor management database;
Conduct prospect research to assist with both short-term development initiatives and longer-term strategic projects;
Lead on meeting preparations including:
Collection of necessary documents, marketing materials, folders, goody bags and IAVA-branded merchandise;
Ensuring Powerpoint and other A/V needs are properly functioning for meetings and presentations;
Setting up meeting rooms and confirming proper reservations;
Follow up communications, as required;
Assist in drafting correspondence, acknowledgement letters and other communications deemed necessary;
Maintain, create and standardize all invoices, contracts and other administrative paperwork needed for the Development Division;
Assist with Development Chief of staff’s calendar management, scheduling phone calls and juggling meeting requests (both internal and external);
Provide ad hoc event support;
Other administrative duties, as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of development experience required;
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and Google Apps;
Knowledge and understanding of Salesforce CRM highly desirable;
Exceptional writing and communications skills; strong editing and proofreading;
Experience working in a fast-paced environment;
