Summary:
The UTO instructor is responsible for the control, management, and implementation of the Afghanistan Air Traffic Control training program for the Mazar-e-Sharif International Airport in accordance with the Unit Training Plan (UTP) and published regulations, issued by the appropriate agency, i.e.; Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authorities, ICAO, NATO, or STANAGs. Ensures the scheduling and training documentation of Afghani ATC students. Exercises supervision of the assigned subordinate personnel.
Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described – performs related duties as requested)
·Manages the Afghani ATC OJTI program at Mazar-e-Sharif International Airport as prescribed in the Unit Training Plan.
·Ensures that OJT students are trained on published regulations at Mazar-e-Sharif International Airport, including ATC procedures, SOPs and LOPs.
·Able to work in a multinational environment of Civilian and Military Traffic with combined operation of FW (Fixed Wing) and RW (Rotary Wing) aircraft.
·Maintain library of applicable facility directives and SOPs.
·Provide for the timely submission of all reports and documentation as required.

Education & Experience: (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 10 years experience in an air traffic control facility.
- ATC Instructor certified IAW civilian and/or military standards.
- Highly experienced senior Air Traffic Controller with civilian and/or military experience.
License & Certifications:
- Approved ICAO course (or FAA/Military equivalent) and assessment. Training skills regarding instruction methods.
- Human Factors associated to ATC operation and instruction.
Knowledge & Skills:
Mandatory Proficiency: Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Graphic Presentation, and Database.
English:SLP 4343
The normal working language within theorganisationis English for all written and oral work.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely detailed technical and specialized reports and to make verbal presentations.
- Ability to develop clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies. Identify priorities and adjust as required.
