Summary:

The Technical Instructor I is responsible for developing Information Technology (IT)-related Computer-Based Training (CBT) materials in support of the Ministry of Interior Network Operations Center/Joint Operations Center (MoI NOC/JOC) compound in Kabul, Afghanistan. (This position is for in-theater support.)


Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described – performs related duties as requested)

·Presents CBT materials on IT-related topics, to include:

o Installation procedures (network fundamentals (interfaces, mapping, data flows, etc.), VoIP fundamentals, software, etc.)

o Maintenance procedures

o Operation procedures (Linux procedures, device management, performance management)

o Personnel security

o Physical and environmental protection

o Safety/security procedures (Malware defense, data protection, vulnerability assessments)

·Develops training schedule and coordinates all facilities and equipment

·Perform other duties as assigned


Education & Experience: (or equivalent)

·Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology related field

·Minimum three years of experience instructing IT-related training materials

·Demonstrated exceptional problem solving skills

·Excellent communication and customer service skills

·Able to maintain a safety conscious work environment


License & Certifications:

·Department of Defense (DoD) Instructor Certification or equivalent (preferred)


Knowledge & Skills:

·Familiarity/experience with Microsoft Office Suite products, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

·Able to follow directions and verbal orders with minimal supervision

·Able to follow advanced step-by-step procedures

·Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)


Physical Demands/Working Environment:

Physically fit to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

Use of appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) may be mandatory

Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable

Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions


Travel:Up to 33% (potential)


Security Clearance:No clearance required
