RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The 438thAEW has a requirement to train the Afghan Air Force (AAF) on how to organize, man, equip, and train their forces. TAAC-Air/CJ4L and the TAAC-Air/438thAEW will organize and conduct this training effort at AAF HQ and the AAF Kabul Air Wing, located in a secure area adjacent to the Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA). Train the AAF-equivalent office of TAAC-Air CJ4L to develop the functions, processes and effective execution of aerial port operations, aircraft parts supply training, logistics force development, logistics policy, acquisition requirements/spares forecasting within both the AAF and Afghan National Army (ANA).
An engineer trainer is required to perform the following duties:
Assist with the development of aviation production control, maintenance analysis, and depot overhaul facility requirements.
Develop, maintain and coordinate Tashkil (Table of Organization and Equipment) personnel and equipment authorizations for AAF engineer functions.
Coordinate coalition FOB requirements with NATO Technical Officer/COR and provide project oversight.
Promote training coordination and cooperation between the AAF A4 staff and wings and the CPMD Corps staffs and MoD Engineers.
Train to ensure the AAF CES interacts closely with coalition advisors on the continued
Development of flight line requirements.
Assist with the integration and bed down of new weapon systems and associated support requirements.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Army/Marine or Air Force E8-O6 with at least 5 years engineering/maintenance experience.
Applicants must be able to pass CENTCOM medical, dental and other CRC-related deployment requirements at an approved CRC. Applicants must be in possession of a current/active US tourist Passport (with further eligibility to receive – if not already in possession of – a current Afghanistan visa).
If candidate is already deployed, he/she must supply appropriate documentation satisfying these requirements along with confirmation that he/she is in physical possession of government-issued PPE to demonstrate compliance with CENTCOM deployment requirements.
Willing to work and live in Afghanistan and understand they can be further assigned to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government
Willingness to work in hostile areas without a weapon
Willingness to deploy and live on forward operating bases without regular U.S. Post/Base Exchange and Commissary facilities
Previous experience training foreign military soldiers.
Deployed operational experience in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT)
