Summary:


TheJourneyman II, Generator shall provide preventive emergency maintenance and general facility related support for a total facility sustainment and maintenance program that consists of preventive and predictive maintenance to identified locations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)


Preventive maintenance shall be provided by the systematic care and servicing of equipment and facilities to prolong their useful life.


· Preventive maintenance program shall include but not be limited to:


· Continuous inspections to detect and correct mechanical defects or conditions


· Proper lubrication of mechanical systems


· Use infrared scanning to maintain proper equipment operating temperatures


· Periodic painting to prevent equipment corrosion


· Use of appropriate diagnostic equipment


· Conduct regular inspections and replacement of beIts filters, etc. for HVAC equipment.


· Predictive maintenance shall be provided through the performance of periodic equipment inspections to identify and monitor symptoms that indicate that mechanical failure of a piece of equipment may be approaching.


· Monitor of HVAC components to identify excessive wear


· Check HVAC equipment for abnormal vibrations


· Monitor of equipment power consumption to detect anomalies


· Notify the Government of suspected impending equipment failure and open trouble ticket


· Monitor uninterruptable power supplies, generators, and mission-critical infrastructures systems to detect anomalies.


· This maintenance may necessitate I require training certification at APC, manufacturer, etc.).


· Maintain a capability to respond to major facility infrastructure failures.


· Provide minor facility repairs in response to unit internal trouble tickets and for all other repairs.

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)


A minimum of 10 years’ experience providing preventative maintenance of electrical and mechanical HVAC systems performed as recommended by:


The equipment manufacturer, by NFPA OB (recommended practice for electrical equipment maintenance) and by DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Army Technical Manuals (TM).


Federal Freon License is strongly preferred


· US Citizenship


· Top Secret (TS) security clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) indoctrination


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


A minimum of 10 years’ experience providing preventative maintenance of electrical and mechanical HVAC systems
