Tech Control Facility Technician III - Lockheed Martin - Sumter, SC
This position is a temporary position with an expected assignment length of up to 6 months. The Tech Control Facility Technician III will be based at Shaw AFB, SC, but available to travel to all US Military sites (e.g., Kuwait, UAE, Pakistan, and Afghanistan) within the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) by direction of USAFCENT A6. The Tech Control Facility Technician III must meet the general qualification requirements in the basic contract (see below): GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Minimum of ten (10) years of “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment. Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of Tech Control Facility equipment. Must have an active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification in compliance with DoD 8570 continuing education requirements. GENERAL: The Tech Control Facility Technician III must have good organizational skills, multi-task on several projects, have good interpersonal skills, and possess excellent oral and written communications skills. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Coordinate and review Network Operations Security Center (NOSC)/DISA crisis management restoral plans, local restoral plans (LRPs), and Minimal Essential Circuit Listings (MECLs) with deployed NCC/TCF Operations and Maintenance supervisors. • Coordinate restoral actions and connectivity architecture changes between USAFCENT TCF O&M technicians, ACCC, departmental SMEs, and outside agencies such as, but not limited to DISA TNC and USCENTCOM • Recommend local written procedures for coordination with DISA, with other TCFs, user agencies, and commercial vendors • Direct immediate maintenance actions to correct deteriorated or failed long-haul connectivity/networks • Research, document, track, and report corrective measures/overall health of local and deployed transport network status in accordance with DISA reporting procedures and local directives • Confirm activations, changes, and deactivations of trunks and circuits in accordance with DISA TSOs or as directed by higher levels of control. Verifies applicable reports (i.e., delayed service, exception, in-effect) are submitted in accordance with DISAC 310-130-1 Basic Qualifications Basic Requirements – Secret security clearance – U.S Driver’s license with photo – Security+ce certification – CCNA – 10 years hands-on experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintaining communications systems or equipment – Five years hands-on experience in troubleshooting or maintaining Tech Control Facility equipment including: Promina equipment, FCC-100, Encryption equipment, and Cisco routers Equivalent experience/education combinations are permitted based on the Typical Minimums required for this job which are 10 related experience and a Associates degree in a related discipline.
