(AFG-KANDAHAR) Warehouse Foreman – Food Service
Job Summary
The Warehouse Foreman – Food Service leads a field team in performing warehouse, inventory, supply, and daily workflow duties.
Principal Accountabilities
- Lead and instruct field team on proper receiving, storage, and issuing of warehouse items
- Ensure the process of First In, First Out, First to Expire (FIFOFE) is maintained at all times in accordance with requirements
- Monitor and analyze operational data and reports to verify compliance with established policies, procedures, and work standards
- Ensure compliance with current regulations and directives regarding financial inventory and accounting
- Oversee preparation of material control and accounting input for data processing and review output documents for accuracy
- Inspect and evaluate inventory management activities including storage and rotation of stock upon food deliveries
- Prepare reports on materials, supplies, and equipment availability, storage space, and relocation
- Properly resolve or refer personnel and operational issues as they arise
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of asset management, ground transportation, and distribution administration
- Skill in analyzing and evaluating Subsistence Total Order and Receipt Electronic System (STORES) food service software and Defense Transportation System reports, quality control, and traffic management functions
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and resolve issues as they occur
Experience & Education
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a warehouse environment with at least one (1) year of supervisory or OCONUS/combat zone work
- Experience as liaison representative between military services, commercial agencies, and host nation elements
- Experience in effectively handling personnel issues, cargo documentation, and logistical movement control
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Medically clear for food service operations
- Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
