PAE is currently seeking an Electronic Technician II – Air Traffic Control (ATC) Radar to support our NAMSA program in our Kandahar, Afghanistan Location.
The Electronic Technician II – Air Traffic Control (ATC) Radar will:
Repair, overhaul, and modify Airport Surveillance Radar and Precision Approach Radar systems.
Isolate malfunctions by prescribed systems checking procedures, visual inspections, voltage checks and other tests using basic and advanced electronic test equipment.
Accomplish organizational and intermediate level equipment modifications in accordance with directive publications.
Assemble, install, and repair antenna systems, transmission lines, and waveguides.
Perform corrosion control inspections and corrective measures.
Ensure maintenance data collection forms, inspections, and maintenance records are accurately completed.
Repair, adjust and align interface equipment for radar display in control tower.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Electronic Systems Technology OR Completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program in electronics; OR Completion of FAA or U.S. Military school in electronic systems or Electronic equipment.
Minimum of Three (3) years of “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of electronic systems or equipment that may involve training and assisting lower level technicians. Must have the technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of Electronic systems or Electronic equipment.
Minimum of three (3) years experience performing preventive maintenance on ATC radar systems and related equipment, inspecting equipment at specified intervals determining operational status, replacing defective components, performing operational checks, and maintaining inspection and maintenance records.
Experience maintaining STAR 2000, PAR 2000 or ASR-11 is a plus.
Active Secret US Security Clearance required
Must have valid Driver’s License
