Overview:

Responsibilities:


DUTIES: – The Fleet Manager is responsible for performing and manages the overall operation of compound vehicle maintenance facility and light and heavy vehicle fleet and performs services to include: – Plans, schedules, and directs the operations of vehicle maintenance facility; develops and maintains effective shop safety and performance standards, policies, and procedures; assures accuracy of shop and parts inventories; develops and oversees division budget – Directs the service, repair, and preventive maintenance of compound vehicles; develops, implements, and supervises preventive maintenance programs; periodically reviews repair work and procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and efficiency; recommends vehicles for replacement, prepares specifications – Interviews, selects, trains, disciplines and evaluates directly or through subordinate staff; assesses and provides training for personnel; directs supervisory staff in planning and scheduling of automotive and heavy equipment maintenance and repairs – Operates and maintains computerized network tracking system; tracks and reviews vehicles, parts inventories, shop labor, fuels, and vehicle utilization; reviews and analyzes utilization documentation to recommend vehicle assignment to departments – Interprets and applies regulatory requirements associated with air pollution control, hazardous material and waste management, storage tanks, recycling, etc.; assures compliance with local, state, and federal requirements – Investigates motor vehicle accidents, negotiates settlements, collects damages, and authorizes repairs to compound vehicles – Other duties as assigned – Controls/issues vehicles and maintains location, inventory, vehicle assignment, key control, and usage records. – Takes all measures necessary to ensure no vehicle theft.


Qualifications:


Qualifications – High School Diploma or Equivalent – • Valid driver’s license from home country. • Certification in HAZMAT transportation, heavy equipment, Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Crane AND TEREX operations. WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED: • 5+ years Transportation Supervisory experience • Proficient with the correct application of transportation systems and processes that ensure continuous improvement (safety, environmental quality and manufacturing) • Experience maintaining records and preparing reports • Possess an extensive working knowledge of MHE/WHE and Crane operating requirements and procedures. • Excellent driving record. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS LANGUAGE SKILLS: • English- excellent reading, writing and speaking skills MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: • High School Level REASONING ABILITIES: • Ability to problem solve and multi task • Ability to provide positive work environment for diverse work force • Ability to ensure ethical policies and procedures are adhered to OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Proficient in Window XP software, Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, and Excel • Ability to correctly interpret and apply all policies and procedures • Ability to lead effective meetings and team assignments • Ability to correctly interpret and apply all policies and procedures • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship with employees, contractors and customer OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: – Must be able to obtain a Moderate Risk Public Trust Certificate (MRPT) – Ability to be medically cleared to serve on contract. – Proficiency in Maximo and Cost Point Databases preferred.
