Position Summary / Job Description :
This deployed position will manage instructors in the Afghanistan theater of operations on a secure installation. The position will be responsible for the training in accordance with and within the limitations of the FAA and the aircraft manufacturer. The position will report directly to the Site Manager on a day to day basis. Organizes and coordinates the shift, work, and R&R schedules of the instructors
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supervision to the instructional staff, manages instructor leave and R&R schedules, ensures sufficient staffing to meet the projected training workload
- Act as primary interface for Textron to the local USAF customers for training matters
- Coordinate with the maintenance manager to ensure adequate aircraft and maintenance events are dedicated to training
- Administer the OJT program, ensures proper documentation in student training records
- Review results of training courses and develops initiatives to continually improve and refine training program effectiveness
- Produce reports and responds to requests for information from military and various US Gov’t customers
- Provide maintenance support as needed by the program to support aircraft operations.
- Able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours and travel as required to support mission requirements.
- Incumbent performs other job-related tasks as assigned and required; any duties/tasks included in the employee’s performance evaluation elements are essential to that employee’s position within the job classification.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and abilities are required:
* Hold a valid Airframe & Powerplants License (A&P) certificate issued by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) (Preferred), with 10 years experience in aviation maintenance.
* Ten or more years of experience in maintenance instruction
* FAA Inspection Authorization preferred.
* Working experience on the Cessna 208 or similar aircraft (preferred)
* Experience working in a military environment (preferred).
* Demonstrated experience in the type of maintenance support required for the customers designated aircraft inventory.
* Ability to determine work methods to accomplish assignments.
* Must be able to pass a background investigation.
* Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
* Must possess a US Passport with the ability to obtain a Work Visa for Afghanistan.
* Subject to drug and alcohol testing.
* Position Contingent on Contract Award.

- Ability to work an 84 hour work week (7 days per week, 12 hours per day).
