Rotation Director XCTC - Cubic Corporation - Washington, DC

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Rotational Director (RD) leads a small team of specialty function personnel to provide assistance, coaching, teaching and mentoring of the rotational brigade commander and his/her staff in the planning, preparation, and execution of a 14 to 21 day live training exercise involving the BCT in the execution of realistic combat missions as part of the National Guard’s XCTC program. Acts with authority delegated by the PM to make appropriate operational decisions in support of the customer.

Plans and executes, with PM guidance, up to two Brigade Combat Team live training rotations per year, at multiple training locations around CONUS, providing enhanced readiness training to National Guard units. Functions performed include scenario development, exercise control, Observer/Controller Training Academy, Battlefield Effects, Battlefield Immersion (including Civilians on the Battlefield and Key Role Players), Opposing Force, and simulated urban and nonurban terrain. Training could include live fire based on unit commander’s training objectives.

Supervise a staff of from four to 10 full time employees in various specialties and surging to more than 50 personnel during peak training windows, primarily May through August.

Provides unit take home packages consisting of AARs, videos and other training artifacts created during rotation.

Conduct multiple coordination and planning conferences with the rotational brigade commander and his/her staff at various locations with upcoming training units and the National Guard Bureau in preparation for future year rotations.

Assists in the preparation of estimates and proposals in response to Government directed requirements. Assists the PM and DPM as needed for subcontract management; Quality Control and Safety programs; and compliance with contract requirements, corporate policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and DoD, Army and installation regulations, policies, and procedures.

Ensures the proper storage and readiness of Government Furnished Equipment to support the program, including instrumentation, mission and life support equipment. This readiness could include efforts to enhance current instrumentation capabilities.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :

• Successful command of a combat arms battalion desired. Graduate of CGSC or equivalent.
  


• MS/MA; MEL1/graduate of the US Army War College or equivalent desired.
  


• Successful maneuver brigade key staff position (S3, XO) desired.
  


• Course development, scenario development and/or service with TRADOC as capability manager desired.
  


• In depth and current understanding of US Army and joint operational doctrine, and relevant threat force doctrine and tactics. Recent combat experience in Iraq or Afghanistan desired.
  


• Former assignment with National Guard Bureau or in support of National Guard training desired.
  


• Combat Training Center experience as Observer/Controller desired.
