Description
We are seeking a Quality Engineer who will provide leadership and process management for the Hunter Unmanned Air Vehicle System (UAS). This is a deployed position in Afghanistan with no home basing assignment. Candidate is required to obtain Hunter UAS Mech/Tech training at RIAC Dugway UT and Quality training at USIC Sierra Vista prior to deployment. Will be required to apply and maintain standards of quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures and be able to modify and implement change as necessary. Providing coordination, guidance and analysis of projects, repair and employment of the Hunter UAS, thru life cycle management processes. Experience working with all engineering disciplines including Electrical/ mechanical integration and testing from concept to fielding and support ensuring that corrective measures meet contract requirements and objectives. Ensure that project and process control documentation are compliant with Army requirements and objectives and/or those of the contract. Review designs, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements to include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies Represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects and be a frequent liaison with inter-organizational and customer contacts. Work will entail deployments to hazardous duty locations in support of the military customer. Represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects with frequent liaison with inter-organizational and customer contacts. Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified inlean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Qualifications
2 Years with Bachelors in Science; In lieu of formal education, 6 years of relevant experience may be considered. Knowledge of the Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS), FAA / Military maintenance practices, Airframe and Power plant certification, Inspection Authorization (IA) a plus. Experience training maintenance personnel, military deployments, and an Aviation Safety background highly desirable. Must possess or be able to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance, and successfully complete all required training and deployment processing. Proficient in basic office computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access along with good written and verbal communication skills a must.

Preferred Qualifications:
2 Years with Bachelors in Science. 8 years of related experience with an AS degree or 10 years in aviation related quality assurance or aviation maintenance management (military or FAA) will be considered.
