Juvenile Justice Project Manager – Afghanistan
Position Start Date: 4th of April 2016
Duration: 6 months
Location: Kaboul – Afghanistan

Contractual conditions:
Swiss salaried contract 3’347 Chf (~3’100€) < > 4’476 Chf (~4’200€) net salary/month according to experience x 13, Annual Leave: 25 days per year + R&R system including 5 days every 10 weeks + participation to the cost of travel up to a maximum of 1000 USD. Contract includes also local accommodation and transportation, health and repatriation insurance, return flight.
Context:
Terre des hommes is active in Afghanistan since 1995 and carries out projects related to child protection, mother and child health, rural economic development. In 2014, more of 108,000 people benefited from activities of Tdh.
The Project Manager will be based in Kaboul, specializing in Juvenile Justice within the Child Protection field.
General description of the position:
As a representant of the Foundation, the Project Manager will be in charge of the intervention strategy, ensuring the smooth running of the project in the zone of assignment. In line with the Terre des hommes strategic plan and national operation lines, he/she will deliver results within defined timeframes. S/he will ensure the planning, execution, monitoring and financial management of the projects and related human resources.
Fonction details :
Project Management & Representation
Implement projects within assignment including budgetary, M&E, strategical and donor follow-up aspects
Represent Tdh in relevant meetings
Coordinate with other Project Managers on a regular basis, as well as with other departments
Support the Programme Coordinator and Country Delegate in defining the strategy
Donor reporting as well as regular coordination with them
Ensure with the teams, regular coordination with all project stakeholders
Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitor and evaluate project activities in collaboration with the project teams
Assist the project management team with setting up and supplying the databases with information for the project, compile and analyse the data with project planning and tracking tools
Together with the project teams review data analysis to inform project’s development
and readjust activities when necessary
Participate in drawing up intervention strategies in the field of project monitoring and
evaluation and implement them
Security and Safety Management
Ensure that country safety and security guidelines are dessiminated and complied
with by project’s team
Ensure regular follow-up of the security situation in the areas of intervention and
support the updating of security and safety documents
Advocacy & awareness
Produces, jointly with project teams, awareness/advocacy documents
Profile :
• Education: University degree in law or similar education
• Working experience in Muslim countries and in similar positions: working experience in a
complex political and security environment
• Management and leadership experience
• Strong knowledge in Project Cycle Management
• Understanding and commitment to child rights and promoting their adoption in a contested
and complex political and socio – religious working environment
• Commitment to a results based approach to development and to the use of tools best
suited to this approach
• Fluent in oral and written English (C1), French is an asset
