(AFG-KANDAHAR) Forklift Operator

Job Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safe and effective operation of a Skytrak 10042 Forklift, JLG 2505 Forklift, CAT EP20CN Forklift, or equivalent.

Principal Accountabilities

• Operate forklift equipment in a safe and appropriate manner


• Perform vertical movement of material and packages to and from trucks and trailers


• Inspect, clean, and perform operator level maintenance on equipment in accordance with standards


• Closely interact with the customer for movement of materials and equipment


• Perform daily checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition and properly utilized, maintained, and stored


• Follow related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating procedures


• Complete necessary documentation, reporting, and limited office duties


• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of equipment safety, maintenance, and storage


• Analytical and problem-solving skills


• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently


• Ability to work with limited supervision

Experience & Education

• Minimum three (3) years of verifiable experience operating forklift equipment equal to a Skytrak 10042 Forklift, JLG 2505 Forklift, CAT EP20CN Forklift, or equivalent


• Prefer OCONUS experience operating equipment in an environment with military services, commercial agencies, and host nation elements


• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Valid Driver’s License


• Prefer Equipment Operator training and certificate from National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), verifiable military or civilian Equipment Operator training from construction field, or related certification issued by a previous employer

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, bend, stoop, and work around equipment, materials, supplies, and other items required to be handled


• Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable


• Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions


• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Travel

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
