(AFG-KABUL) Financial Analyst

Job Summary

The Financial Analyst develops, interprets and implements financial / administrative / accounting concepts or techniques for financial analysis.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

• Conducts special studies to analyze financial actions and prepares recommendations for policies and procedures


• Interprets and applies policies, government legislation and accounting theories


• Ensures compliance with internal procedures and regulatory agencies


• Responsible for administrative activities associated with estimate to complete (ETC) updates, research and correction of problems and general maintenance systems under direct supervision


• Assists with analyzing BAT performance to provide variances for bid, budget and forecast


• Aides in preparation of audits and reports for both customer and management.


• Runs queries from databases to gather data assigned contract under BAT


• Reviews contract documents and correspondence for internal consistency and conformance with established procedures.


• Maintains an open communication on the day-to-day activities of BAT with management to verify policies, procedures current and future operations


• Performs other duties as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e., Excel, Word, Access)


• Extensive skill with spreadsheet and data base programs


• Operate a ten key calculator by touch


• Self-motivating abilities and can meet deadlines


• Knowledge of CostPoint, OnBase, DynMro preferred


• Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

Experience & Education

• Two (2) years experience in financial environment


• Bachelor’s degree in an finance, accounting or related area.


• Two (2) years experience in accounting may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college


• Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Normal Office Environment
