(AFG-JALALABAD) Air Traffic Management/Assistant Site Manager


Job Summary


The Air Traffic Management Assistant Site Manager coordinates and assists in the management of daily operations, maintenance, personnel, and services in assigned location to ensure quality support for the customer.


Principal Accountabilities


(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)


  • Perform duties as second tier manager in charge of assigned site(s), providing administrative and operational guidance to functional area management

  • Monitor contract requirements, changes, and performance, ensuring situational awareness and compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and regulations

  • Oversee the integration of evolving site functions and personnel to meet customer and company requirements

  • Orchestrate the collaboration and collection of data for timely and quality input to reports, briefings, and review boards

  • Oversee and provide support to subcontract agreements with local companies for labor, equipment, and supplies

  • Assist with managing large numbers of skilled and semi-skilled employees of diverse cultures and trades

  • Facilitate positive customer relationships and the implementation of continuous improvement processes

  • Serve as Interim Site Manager in his or her absence

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills


  • Knowledge of US military operations and contracting support

  • Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software

  • Additional knowledge/skills requirements may vary by assignment

Experience & Education


  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in operations and maintenance, general construction, hazardous materials, waste management, power generation, services, logistics or related field with at least two (2) years in a supervisory role

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Prefer project management experience in remote and hazardous environments, working with diverse cultures and workers from various industries/trades

  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in business or associated discipline

  • Additional experience/education requirements may vary by assignment

Physical Requirements/Working Environment


  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable

  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions

  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Travel



  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally




  • Performs technical functions and provides oversight of AM and airfield management operations (AMOPS) services.




  • Develops operational procedures and monitors their implementation for improving operations and/or maintaining a safe flying environment.




  • Develops agreements between facilities and with other local agencies to define standards of performance.




  • Trains, establishes standards and conducts operational evaluations in order to manage unit training and performance standards to ensure airfield operations personnel possess required job skills.




  • Performs oversight of civil and military airspace utilization to review, redesign, and optimize airspace leveraging new technologies, equipage, infrastructure, and procedural development to maximize benefits and system efficiencies within the NAS and host country airspace structure.
