Research Analyst - Counter Extremism Project - New York, NY
One95 serves as the official online platform that connects global youth working to combat extremism. One95 encourages and facilitates collaboration and learning among a new generation of leaders working to counter violent extremism (CVE). One95 is also provides a basic curriculum to be implemented in communities as a long-term tool to educate young people on the dangers of extremism. The curriculum is interactive and features a counter-narrative toolkit, trivia game, educational videos, and web exchange tools. It is targeted at Generation Z, a diverse, multicultural, and digital-savvy young group who can drive counter-narratives against extremism for generations to come. Ultimately, One95’s platform and CVE curriculum will further compel and promote new and innovative grassroots CVE programs.
On September 28, 2015, CEP co-hosted the Global Youth Summit Against Violent Extremism in New York City with support from the White House and U.S. State Department. Among other things, the Summit marked the launch of One95. The Summit included participation from more than 100 youth activists and government officials from dozens of countries, including Afghanistan, Australia, Egypt, Iraq, Kenya, Nigeria, and Pakistan. The space highlighted the innovative work that young people around the world are doing to build resilience and social cohesion within their respective communities. One95 ensures that the momentum established at the Summit continues year round.
CEP is a not-for-profit, non-partisan, international policy organization formed to combat the growing threat from extremist ideology. The materials may be published online for consumption by the general public, the media, and/or policymakers. Outstanding research and writing/editing skills are a must.
