AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. Job Summary
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanic in Afghanistan US Embassy contract. The mechanic under the direction of the Lead Sr. Wheel Vehicle Mechanic, and under the supervision of the Project Manager, performs the full range of repair and modification work at the direct support / general support maintenance level of work on heavy/light wheeled equipment and vehicles tactical and non-tactical.Responsible for troubleshooting and repair work on suspensions, engines, frames, transfers, transmissions, differentials, fuel and pneumatic systems, steering mechanisms and turbo chargers for wheeled vehicles. Conducts cross training for other employee.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to Read, Write and Speak English with proficiency. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
6 years experience performing vehicle maintenance.
High school graduate or equivalent with US Military School-trained (MOS 63W/S) or documented equivalent civilian training in wheel vehicle maintenance.
Must be able to lift 25 Lbs. continuously, 50 Lbs intermittently.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must be able to work overhead for extended periods.
Must have at a minimum 2 ASE certifications applicable to the work summery description.
Must have a valid state driver’s license and a valid Passport.
Must be able to obtain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) clearance.
