VS-21 Veterans Succeeding in the 21st Century VS–21 is sober program for young Veterans providing food and on–site transitional housing while addressing challenges such as unemployment, addiction, mental illness, and homelessness. The goal is to get young Veterans back into society with the knowledge and resources necessary to function independently. For young, sober Veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan without dependents. Assists homeless veterans with permanent housing, benefits, employment, medical support, financial literacy, social skills and much more while in a transitional housing environment. Transitional housing, case management, food provided.

This is an As-Needed Position

Responsibilities:
The VS-21 Monitor assists the Program Supervisor with maintaining the facility and providing support for facility clients. This position:

• Monitors clients to ensure they are performing daily tasks


• Answers telephones, checks log books and files documents


• Oversees room inspections, including the TV and laundry room


• Monitors the computer room during client use, restocks computer supplies and maintains room cleanliness


• Organizes and restocks all supply rooms


• Cleans the dining room prior to meetings


• Empties facility trash

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED


• Minimum 1 year experience in clerical position


• Basic computer skills


• Proven ability to do basic arithmetic


• Able to communicate clearly, effectively, and compassionately with others

Additional Requirements:

• US Armed Forces Veteran preferred


• Experience with administering prescription medications and drug/alcohol usage testing desirable
