(AFG-KABUL) Mentor Program Support Manager


Job Summary


The Mentor Program Support Manager will serve as a liaison between field operations and local Program Management Office (PMO) functional areas of responsibility. Participates in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. Will provide oversight, continuity, quality assurance, and program management to an international police training and mentoring program.


Principal Accountabilities



  • Plans, manages, and controls the day-to day activities of providing operational support to personnel in mission.




  • Maintains a thorough understanding of progress assessment tools and develops, briefs, updates plans according to mission requirements.




  • Ensures compliance with the specific task order or statement of work, company policies and procedures, and other practices set forth by upper management directives.




  • Increases the effectiveness and efficiency of support functions (HR, Security, Travel and Operations), through coordination and communication between support and field functions.




  • Executes mentoring plan requirement.




  • Maintains and provides current assessments and mentoring / training support documents.




  • Prepares program execution plans and identifies appropriate tactical, technical and business resources needed.




  • Monitors selected projects to verify contractual objectives are met and provide site assistance when necessary.




  • Reviews high-level deliverables across program.




  • Supports program managers to ensure satisfactory completion of program objectives.




  • Acts as point of contact for program matters relating to contract between customers, users, and management teams.




  • Manages, coaches, mentors, and develops various staff to achieve prescribed objectives.




  • Recognizes and pursues changes in project scope and/or workload.




  • Leads, plans, schedules, organizes, supports, executes, evaluates, and continuously improves all mission training and mentoring.




  • Authorizes assignment changes, leave requests, end of mission requests and other staffing matters while ensuring minimum manning requirements are met.




  • Ensures behavior and appearance of all personnel, on and off duty, exudes professionalism, conforms to policies and procedures, and reflects positively upon the company and United States of America.




  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.



Knowledge & Skills



  • Possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.




  • Ability to interact and facilitate between diverse and complex organizations.




  • Ability to manage complex tasks.




  • Ability to supervise personnel with varied job sets.




  • Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills.




  • Excellent report writing skills required.




  • Knowledge of various computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).




  • Ability to effectively communicate, advise, and train others in principles of International Police Mentoring.



Experience & Education



  • Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of related experience (2 years for every year of education)




  • Minimum one (1) year experience in an international police mission or similar; preferably in a supervisor capacity.




  • Minimum three (3) years of full time supervisory experience within a law enforcement agency, military organization, or international police mission.




  • No revocation of a State license or certification while serving in law enforcement.




  • Experience in program or project management




  • Minimum two (2) years experience on a Police Program in Afghanistan




  • Experience in working with developing nation cultures is desired.




  • Must meet the minimum requirements for a trainer, mentor, or ministerial level mentor as defined in the specific mission requirements.




  • Must have a final (not interim) SECRET Level Security Department of Defense (DoD) Clearance before deployment and must maintain that clearance.



Physical Requirements/Working Environment



  • Must pass all medical and fitness requirements directed by US Central Command (CENTCOM) in order to deploy




  • Must be able to operate in harsh and austere conditions of Afghanistan



Travel


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
