Summary:

The Logistics/Safety Specialist will be responsible to manage all material and equipment– to include requisitions, inventory control, movement, and tracking of property – and developing/enforcing the safety program required in support of the Ministry of Interior Network Operations Center/Joint Operations Center (MoI NOC/JOC) compound in Kabul, Afghanistan.


Essential Job Functions: (not limited to duties as described – performs related duties as requested)

·Analyzes and develops logistics plans

·Creates and reviews procedures for distribution and inventory management

·Manages all assets (repairable and non-repairable)

·Able to work effectively and consistently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment at all times during day-to-day operations

·Will learn and be able to read and interpret technical data and instructions

·Maintains accountability for all resources

·Maintains metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records

·Recommend purchase of new or improved technology, such as automated systems

·Develop and enforce safety program


Education & Experience: (or equivalent)

·Associate’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college/university and 4-6 years of experience or 5 years of experience in a related area in lieu of a degree

·Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a safety conscious work environment


License & Certifications:

·Information Technology Infrastructure Library IITIL) Foundation V3 Certified (preferred)

·Core IMS Certification (Ability to train Core IMS)


Knowledge & Skills:

·Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required

·Strong verbal and written communication skills required

·Strong verbal and written skills

·Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources


Physical Demands/Working Environment:

·Physically fit to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

·Use of appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) may be mandatory

·Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable

·Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions


Travel:Up to 33% (potential)
