(AFG-KANDAHAR) Materials Control Supv
Job Summary
The Materials Control Supervisor is responsible for oversight of all stock control, inventory management, material sorting/identification/retrograde/warehousing in support of assigned program.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Supervise, schedule, and instruct warehouse personnel to perform proper work techniques and procedures to support Statement of Work requirements
- Coordinate with Warehouse Managers and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
- Supervise preparation of material control and accounting input for data processing and review output documents
- Inspect and evaluate inventory management activities
- Manage distribution and filing of receipt, issue, turn-in, and salvage records
- Implement and manage effective customer service program
- Prepare reports on materials, supplies, equipment availability, storage space, and relocation of material
- Supervise, research, and then prepare documentation to support inventory management reports and proper classification of materials
- Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction.
- Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
- Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of asset management, warehouse processes, and distribution administration
- Skill and knowledge in analyzing and evaluating logistics management information system
- Expert user of SARSS and/or other Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prefer Associate’s Degree in logistics or management
- Six (6+) plus years of military and/or civilian logistics experience (such as Army Quartermaster Corps 92A E-6 or above with SARSS experience or Logistics Supervisor with warehouse management experience), with at least two (2) years of OCONUS work
- Experience in cargo documentation, logistical movement control, and supervising freight customs, receipt, storage, and issue
- Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Ability to perform work while wearing personal protective equipment including vest and helmet
- Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds in a warehouse and field environment
- Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Must have ability to obtain and maintain US security clearance at proper level
