(AFG-KANDAHAR) MWR Repair Specialist

Job Summary

Provide technical support and perform regular preventative maintenance inspections and repair Morale, Welfare and Recreational (MWR) equipment

Principal Accountabilities

• Performs routine and major repairs on MWR equipment with oversight from the Senior Repair Specialist


• Provides an accurate inventory of functional, damaged / broken, and equipment being repaired


• Provides technical support and troubleshooting on MWR equipment as qualified by the Senior Repair Specialist


• Ensures proper maintenance, safety and cleanliness standards are adhered to


• Performs monthly PM Service and annotates any major repair needed to the Senior Repair Specialist


• Assembles new equipment and coordinates installation or relocation of equipment as needed


• Effectively interprets manuals and schematics of equipment with oversight of the Senior Repair Specialist


• Be able to make any minor repair or adjustment during PM inspection


• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic knowledge of electrical and hand tools required


• Must be safety-conscious; may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles and electrical shocks while repairing equipment


• Ability to read, interpret, and apply manufacture’s instructional service manuals of gym equipment

Experience & Education

• 6 months or more experience preferred


• Training in maintenance and certified on repairs of gym equipment preferred


• Experience in equipment maintenance and repair of gym equipment


• High School Graduate or equivalent


• Read, write and communicate with English


• CPR and first aid certification is preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Living and working conditions at the assigned location could be remote and uncomfortable


• Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions


• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions


• Able to lift up 80 to 100 lbs

Travel

Ability to travel domestically and internationally
