This position is located in Afghanistan and is contingent upon position availability.

Position Title : Finance and Accounting Supervisor – Interdiction


Location: Kabul, Afghanistan


The Finance and Accounting Supervisor provides professional financial management services and directs the staff performing accounting, purchasing, and property management functions; responsible for proper execution of an annual budget, Experience preparing/reviewing financial statements, budgets, account reconciliation and variance analysis for government contracts.


Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Performs a variety of general accounting type tasks for the CivPol program. Verifies accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records including detailing financial business transactions (e.g., invoice approvals, disbursements, expense vouchers, and wire payments).




  • Provides customer service support to internal clients, suppliers, and customers.




  • Investigates questionable data and recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.



Also, performs more multiple financial activities within various finance job functions. Compiles Working knowledge of government contracts revenue recognition practices and ability to analyze and verify proper recognition of revenue and ensure billing issued in accordance with practice to maintain accurate and verifiable revenue to billing traceability Maintains and analyzes individual’s performance and accountability at task order level. Ensures that costs are allocated according to established procedures and in accordance with task order contracts. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for management.


Also required:



  • Prior government contract experience with multiple contract type programs, to include firm fixed price, cost type and T&M.




  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop closure planning.




  • Strong Excel skills, Access a plus, proficient with Word and Power Point.




  • Strong analytical skills.




  • Strong communication skills.




  • Excellent interpersonal skills.




  • Self starter, able to work independently.




  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and 7+ years experience, or equivalent experience/combined education.




  • Prior manager level experience working in a fast paced, high energy environment.




  • Proven ability to deliver results and manage expectations of senior leadership and billing team.




  • Must be able to qualify for an MRPT (Moderate Risk for Public Trust) security vetting designation.
