(AFG-Kabul) Deputy Chief of Team - Advisor

Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World

Deputy Chief of Team – Advisor

This position is located in Kabul and is contingent upon position availability.

Duties:

  • Responsible for overall management, operation, and guidance of CSSP initiatives for INL/CSSP, including Capacity Building Program, Infrastructure Program Management Team (IPMT), Training Program, Counter-Narcotics Justice Center (CNJC), Pol-i-Charkhi Management and Stabilization Team, Mentoring Team, and Special Projects Team. Helps develop and implement reform and support programs that reflect the needs of the MOJ-Central Prison Department administration. Attends corrections and justice sector-related meetings. Given the importance of this responsibility, this duty rests with the Chief of Team or Deputy Chief of Team, though they may choose to send other CSSP personnel as representatives in their absence or to provide technical expertise on specific issues. The Chief of Team and Deputy Chief of Team are the primary points of contact with the U.S. Embassy, INL, GOA, and International Community. On substantive issues involving senior U.S., international, or Afghan officials, the CSSP must communicate through INL/Kabul and provide sufficient advance notice for meetings and other related events. In the likely event that officials contact the CSSP directly, the CSSP informs INL/Kabul of the discussions as soon as possible, but no later than one day through either a phone call or short e-mail.
