Army Joint Support Team (AJST) Command and Control Systems Integrator (C2-SI)
Background: The AJST conducts U.S. Army and Joint Air- Ground Operations education, training, and C2 systems integration in support of joint and military service training requirements for all four Department of Defense (DoD) Services, for U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and for elements in order to provide relevant and ready forces to joint force commanders, capable of conducting joint operations across the full spectrum of conflict.
Job Summary: The AJST C2-SI (Training Specialist II) serves as the integrator for all interagency actions supporting AJST training, exercises, scenarios and joint readiness training events. The CS-SI develops interagency C2 requirements into plans for joint strategic deployment, tactical contingency scenarios, and prepares exercise control/support documents to facilitate live, virtual and constructive training and operations.
Job Description: The C2-SI’s primary role is to ensure that all scenarios developed for AJST Support Operations comply with C2 provisions of joint regulations and procedures. The C2-SI is familiar with current C2 doctrine and verifies that all training scenarios incorporate these doctrinal mandates into appropriate scenarios and ensures that the supported units are able to fully exercise their C2 functions and interoperability. The C2-SI has strong working knowledge and experience with joint relationships and integrates C2 scenarios to add realism and complexity to operations, training and readiness exercises.
Qualifications: The AJST C2-SI ( Training Administrator II ) must possess the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Secret Security Clearance
- Major or above, Warrant Officer (CW3 or above), senior NCO (MSG and above)
- 20+ years of military experience
- 10+ years joint experience at division or higher level
- Military experience at the combat arms brigade level or higher
- Current and thorough understanding of U.S. Army and joint operational doctrine
- Current and thorough understanding of relevant threat force C2 doctrine and tactics
- Recent (within five year) combat experience in Afghanistan or Iraq
Desired Skills (preferred) :
· Observer/Controller at the JRTC, National Training Center (NTC), or other venue
· Participation in joint training exercises or joint operations as a combat arms company/team commander or battalion level or higher primary staff officer/CSM/SGM.
· Professional behavior enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
· Well organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
· Able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Education: (Civilian and Military)
· Bachelor’s Degree mandatory. Limited opportunity to waiver degree – equivalent experience in a directly related field at a rate of 2 years experience for each year of college.
· Graduate of Command and General Staff College (CGSC); Sergeant’s Major Academy (USASMA); Battle Staff NCO Course or joint force equivalent
· MEL IV Graduate
Miscellaneous Requirements:
· Ability to spend extended periods of time travelling
· Maintain appropriate level of physical endurance and health to operate in austere tactical field conditions under simulated combat operations and under the life support conditions of the Soldiers in the exercise.
