Forensic Document & Media Exploitation (DOMEX) Mentor - Ideal Innovations, Inc. - Arlington, VA
Duties:
- Serve as senior consultant to the local Afghan Document and Media Exploitation/Computer Forensic team on questions of classification, quality control, identifications, and other technical matters concerning Document and Media exploitation/Computer Forensic.
- Serve as instructor and mentor to new and current local Afghan Document and Media Exploitation/Computer Forensic personnel works with and assist the other mentors (Chemical Exam, Firearm/Toolmark and Latent Print) in order to achieve and maintain a high level of productivity.
- Reviews, develops and implements internal and external operational procedures to enhance overall forensic program effectiveness.
- Interacts and confers with Afghan military, police and other related program personnel to identify, develop, refine and implement adequate operational processes and procedures.
- Identify current and future supply, equipment, and personnel needs.
- Identify training needs.
- Periodically review (QC) output to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Verify and or confirm Document and Media Exploitation/Computer Forensic identifications.
- Other duties as identified by the Forensic Mentorship Program Manager.
Requirements:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or eight (8) years related work experience along with the following:
- Obtain formal training as a Certified Digital Forensics Examiner at an accredited state or federal organization
- Possess at least one of the following certifications:
- International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners
- Global Information Assurance Certified Forensic Analyst
- Guidance Software Computer Forensics
- Department of Defense, Defense Cyber Investigations Training Academy
- International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in an ASCLD Lab or ISO accredited laboratory conducting a full range of digital forensic analysis
- Completed at least two (2) digital exams within the last year
- Must have testified as an expert witness in either U.S. State or Federal Court
- Must have experience in the collection, preservation, and processing of evidence and event reconstruction
- Must possess five (5) years of experience as an instructor, teacher, or briefing senior officials
- Possess computer skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, and Photoshop, and have the ability to plan, organize, build and present briefings.
Pre-deployment Training & Fitness Requirement: Successfully complete pre-deployment training and fitness requirements specified by the U.S. Department of Defense for working overseas.
Computer Competency/Briefing Requirement: Possess computer skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, and PhotoShop, and have the ability to plan, organize, build and present briefings.
Firearms: Be eligible and willing to carry government issued firearms.
Physical Duties:
- Lift 70 lbs. to a working height of 48 inches
- General office and laboratory duties/functions
Work Location: Ministry of Interior (MOI) in Kabul with periodic travel to MOI Herat, Afghanistan
Billeting Location: Q Kabul Hotel, Kabul, Afghanistan, with secure transportation to and from work location.
HQ Location: Arlington, VA
Clearance: Secret
Contract: Now until 15 Sep 2016 (in proposal process for follow-on contract of 1 year plus 4 option years) (those willing to sign a year contract preferred)
